Staff Update
A letter from Lisa Oelerich
Dear Friends,
From the time we were asked to open the Alpha New England office 25 years ago, our team has been committed to helping the church across New England share the “Good News” in a “Good Way” through Alpha. Our strategy has always been simple, birthed out of prayer: we seek, ask and strive to follow the wind of the Spirit as He goes before us. The past two years, we have focused on charting an effective course into the future and we are so excited about where the Spirit is leading us.
Beginning this month, June 2025, my time as Executive Director will come to a close. I am excited to begin a new chapter at Alpha New England serving as the Director of Strategic Relationships. This shift will free me up to focus on intentional partnerships, the Boston City-Wide Alpha movement and my work with the Boston “E” Team (Evangelism Team).
We are also thrilled to announce that Pastor Matt Beattie will begin serving as our new Executive Director at Alpha New England. As we sought the Lord and walked together with open hands, the Spirit has shown us very clearly that Matt is His choice.
I believe he has the skills, experience, and anointing to bring Alpha New England, to new and exciting places. Matt brings his experience and expertise as the current Downtown Campus and Missional Ministry Pastor at Crossway Christian Church in Nashua, NH, as well as over 15 years of service as an executive pastor at his former church in MA. Most of all Matt brings his practical experience in hosting Alphas in various spaces across New England. Please join us in praying for and welcoming Matt into the Executive Director role at ANE. We are so excited about traveling together in this new chapter.
For the Kingdom, Lisa
A Note from Matt.....
I am so excited to be stepping into the role of Executive Director at Alpha New England! This feels like a continuation of the incredible story of how God is working – drawing people into new faith, revitalizing their relationships with Jesus, and touching hearts that once seemed unreachable.
Alpha New England is a truly wonderful and thriving ministry, and I feel honored to help guide and steward it in this next chapter. I am deeply grateful for Lisa's leadership and mentorship over the past year and I'm so glad she will continue to contribute her skills to Alpha New England.
It's hard to believe that over 11 years have passed since I was first introduced to Alpha. I certainly couldn't have imagined then the significant influence it would have on my own faith and the remarkable impact of using Alpha in ministry.
While continuing my pastoral work in southern New Hampshire, I'm also thrilled to have a firsthand view of how God is moving through the Church in New England via the ministry of Alpha. We know that God precedes us in all things, and as 1 Thessalonians reminds us, "the one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it."
Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or if you'd like to connect.
Warmly,
Matt
